2.3 No Third-Party Advertising Cookies
SubAudit does not use any third-party advertising or tracking cookies. We do not serve ads, and we do not allow third-party advertisers to place cookies on your device through our service.
3. Local Storage
In addition to cookies, SubAudit uses your browser's local storage for:
- Scan progress: Temporarily stores the status of email or bank scans so you can navigate away and return without losing progress
- UI preferences: Stores display settings such as dashboard layout preferences and collapsed/expanded panel states
Local storage data remains on your device and is not transmitted to our servers. You can clear local storage through your browser settings at any time.
4. Cookie Consent and UK PECR
Under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), consent is not required for cookies that are strictly necessary for the operation of a service that the user has requested. Since SubAudit uses only essential session cookies and functional preference cookies (no advertising or analytics tracking cookies), a cookie consent banner is not required.
If we introduce non-essential cookies in the future (such as analytics), we will update this policy and implement appropriate consent mechanisms before deploying them.
5. How to Control Cookies
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View what cookies are stored
- Delete individual or all cookies
- Block cookies from specific or all sites
- Set preferences for first-party vs third-party cookies
Browser-Specific Instructions
- Google Chrome: Go to Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data. You can clear cookies, block third-party cookies, or see all cookies stored by specific sites.
- Mozilla Firefox: Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data. Click "Clear Data" to remove cookies, or "Manage Data" to remove cookies for specific sites.
- Safari (macOS/iOS): Go to Settings → Privacy (or Preferences → Privacy on macOS). Click "Manage Website Data" to view and remove cookies. On iOS, go to Settings → Safari → Clear History and Website Data.
- Microsoft Edge: Go to Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data. You can clear cookies and choose which sites can store cookies.
Important: If you block or delete essential cookies (such as the session cookie), SubAudit will not be able to keep you logged in. You will need to re-authenticate on every page visit. We recommend keeping essential cookies enabled for the best experience.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, legislation, or our practices. Material changes will be communicated via a prominent notice within the SubAudit app. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. The "Effective Date" at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last updated.
