Cookies are small text files placed on your device. We also use similar local-storage technologies where needed to remember a setting or maintain a secure session, including multi-factor authentication state for sensitive financial operations and theme preference.
2. Cookies we use
Strictly necessary
Authentication session cookies, CSRF protection, fraud-prevention signals, multi-factor authentication challenges and load-balancing identifiers required to deliver the service securely.
Preference storage
Local storage for display theme (light/dark) and other in-product choices you make so the interface remains consistent across visits.
We do not use third-party advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels for ads, or sell information collected through cookies.
3. Why we use them
These technologies are used only to provide, secure and maintain SubAudit: keeping you signed in, preventing misuse, enforcing MFA before bank connectivity, and preserving settings. They are not used to make automated advertising decisions about you.
4. PECR and consent
Strictly necessary cookies are used under the applicable exemption in the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 because they are essential to provide a service you have requested. If we introduce non-essential analytics or marketing cookies in future, we will provide clear information and obtain consent before placing them, unless another lawful exemption applies.
5. Managing cookies
You can remove or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies or local storage, you may be unable to sign in, complete multi-factor authentication, connect a bank account, or use important parts of the service. Browser vendors publish their own help materials for cookie controls.
